Visitors can explore the gatehouse, the corner towers and the battlements. The sleeping cannons in the courtyard are also well worth a look. Exhibitions on display around the building illustrate how this castle was the centre of royal authority and defence in Norman times. Today it is where medieval Limerick comes alive.
