This estate was built by Carlos Sasseti, who had a special passion for Sintra's mountain ridge.
In the beginning of the XIX century he had an rustic style inn built, which was surrounded by the dazzling "Amizade" Park.
This place provided lodging for some of the most illustrious names from that time, like the portuguese writers "Eça de Queirós" and "Ramalho Ortigão".
