N. Sra da Peninha's hermit chapel was built in the XVI century; it was, however, the hermit Friar Pedro da Conceição that gave it the contours with which it presents itself today. From its baroque architecture we can point out azulejo tiles, which depict the life of the Virgin Mary. In this location we can also find a small palace built after the Romantic style, its construction having been ordered by António Carvalho Monteiro. Visits must be scheduled by phone.
