The original Building predates the XIV century, becoming connected to the Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Sintra in the XVI century (its founding date). This Church was the recipient of several donations and offerings for renovation work, which contributed to the increase of its wealth and maintenance. With the insertion of the Republican government, part of this temple was destroyed, in favor of the widening of the nearby road that left this church reduced to its main and two lateral altars.
