Liverpool is the birthplace of the Beatles, one of the most biggest musical groups in history. Consisting of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr, the band released albums from 1962-1970 and has countless number one hits. In 1964, they had five straight number one albums. Despite their breakup in 1970, the group's popularity remains today. Sadly, John Lennon was murdered in 1980 and George Harrison died of cancer in 2001. However, both Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr's solo careers continue to thrive. According to the Guinness Book of World Records, Liverpool has produced the most number one records in the world.
