Website | EmailOne of the largest contemporary music venues in the city, the main hall holds approximately 500 people. It originally opened as the much smaller Lomax on Cumberland Street, then the present location opened as the L2, before being drawn into a nationwide chain of concert venues known as Carling Academy. However today it is popularly known as the O2 Academy Liverpool. Programming at the club is becoming quite eclectic as it has moved a long way from its one-time policy of only booking rock bands and now has a varied programme including some excellent folk, jazz and reggae acts.
