Website | EmailOkay, so you have seen the Statue of Kun Iam on the harbor-front—now it is time to take a look at the temple. Although the current temple buildings were built in 1627, Kun Iam has actually been worshiped on this site since the 13th century. The temple is more like a cluster of temples, all of which have richly decorated roofs and halls. The center of attention is of course a statue of Kun Iam, whose embroidered silk dress is changed annually. Surrounding the temple is a scenic terraced garden, in which intertwined Banyan trees symbolize marital fidelity.
