Website | EmailWhen strolling along the Avenida de Praia Grande, it is difficult to miss this very pink palace. Built in 1849, this grand colonial mansion was designed by José Tomas de Aquino, for a Portuguese nobleman, Baron do Cercal. Before modern day reclamations, the shuttered windows would have overlooked sandy beaches and the moorings of trading ships from around the globe. The beautifully renovated building has seen government service since the 1880s, and since the handover the building has used by the Chief Executive as administrative offices.
