Located in the multicultural inner-city suburb of Brunswick, this festival features performances by a variety of nationally known roots and folk musicians. In addition, there are community events like barbecues, picnics, special women's events and the opening street party on Sydney Road, a stronghold of Melbourne's Turkish and Arabic communities. The Festival begins with an official welcoming ceremony by members of the Wurundjeri Aboriginal people, the original inhabitants of the local area.
