Just before the Melbourne Festival, the "Fringe" is a three-week alternative version of the major international event. Wonderful and weird art forms dominate venues across the city! Melbourne Fringe—an organisation rather than just a Festival—is dedicated to supporting local independent artists. It encourages innovative, independent and experimental art, providing an audience for otherwise unseen works of art. In venues as varied as the funky streets of Brunswick, to the sands of local beaches, this is a perfect chance to see something a little off-the-wall.
