Flinders takes a little more effort to get to when considering a surf within decent driving distance of Melbourne, but when the swell is large, it is often great. You will find the best waves come with a southwesterly swell and northerly wind. The four main breaks are The Farm, The Gunnery, Means, and Cyrils. The quality and type of wave ranges from a fast right-hander at The Farm, to a reef break at The Gunnery. Meanos is a heavy wave that breaks left or right--basically, the place got its name for good reason, while Cyrils is a quality right-hander.
