If you like Indian or Chinese cuisine and are after something a little different, try Tibetan. Be uplifted by the mandalas (sacred geometrical forms designed to enhance levels of consciousness) that dominate the walls. Steamed beef dumplings or gingered chickpeas are nice starters. Mains are divided into beef, chicken, vegetarian, tofu (and curries. Coconut rice or tingmo (Tibetan bun) round out a meal. For dessert with a difference, try ladu (sweet lentil cake) or deysee (sweet, warm rice with raisins and nuts). Traditional bocha (buttered and salted tea) or thara (a natural yogurt shake) may also tempt the adventurous.
