The large number of Indonesian diners here gives weight to Ramayana's bold claim to be the biggest and best Indonesian restaurant in Australia. The interior will not win any design awards, but who cares? There is something appealing about Ramayana just being Ramayana. The frenetic atmosphere makes it suited to a brief mad mouthful—then be on your way. Take your pick of Javanese, Padang and Sudanese food. Better still, sample a bit of everything. Choose from any three dishes of fish, tofu, chicken, vegetable and beef curries and marry it with fried or steamed rice. All the food is 100% halal.
