So many things about Orita’s feel special - the subdued lighting, the stone and slatted wood decor, the careful flower arrangements, and, of course, the food. Chef-owner, Hikaru Orita, aims to elevate food to an art form. With his melding of traditional cooking methods and unexpected flavor combinations, he succeeds. His 7-course ‘utage’ menu (AUD69) is a selection of meticulously presented morsels of food. The chef grows many of the menu’s vegetables in his own organic garden and his preparation lets their natural colors and flavors shine through.
