This eye-catching establishment, with its attractive waiters, imaginative menu and "to die for" winelist is becoming a Melbourne favourite. The decor is clever and quirky, with 1970s mirrors and a chrome, orange and white colour scheme. Check out the collection of wine bottles in pigeon-holes behind the bar. Old favourites like corned beef and mash are transformed into innovative creations. More contemporary dishes include char-grilled eye fillet with hot and sour sauce. A good vegetarian menu is also available. Among the spectacular desserts is the wonderful Valhrona chocolate soufflé, with handmade habanero chili chocolate ice cream. Some have called it the dessert of the decade.
