This establishment boasts Melbourne's longest running same-premises licence. It is now run by former AFL football great Brian "the Whale" Roberts. This traditional Aussie pub is where Aussie Rules' football fans have a ritual drink before the game, and where many of the old Diggers congregate after the ANZAC Day parade. Among the sporting artifacts is a listing of all the Melbourne Cup winners and assorted football memorabilia. Hearty, solid counter meals are available for lunch and dinner, usually accompanied by large amounts of Carlton Draught! There is beer on tap and cocktails are available.
