Hidden in the Hebraic enclave of Ripponlea, Owensville is somewhat out of step with its surroundings but, nevertheless, well patronised and appreciated. The owner, Greg, was one of the originals who began Cicciolina in St Kilda, and there are echoes of Cicciolina here (especially the wood panelling). Owensville takes its fine dining very seriously though. You can spend extra dollars if you choose to eat in the more sumptuous environs of their dining room, rather than the bar.
