Flanked by plane trees, sidewalk cafes and a scattering of iron-laced verandas, Lygon Street offers relaxed shopping just a few blocks from Melbourne’s center. This was once the heart of Melbourne’s Italian community and you can still find Italian groceries and delis (King and Godfree at number 293-297, Lygon Food Store at 263 and Donnini's Pasta at 398). There are also Australian fashion stores (including Sportsgirl, Witchery and Country Road) and quality shoe shops.
