As the name suggests, this bookshop is not the place to pick up the latest Jackie Collins paperback! Rather, it is a collection of books and leaflets espousing various left-wing causes. One of the most interesting items in stock is a thought-provoking report into police brutality in Victoria. Barricade Books proudly claims to be the only bookshop in the State which has the courage to stock it. There is also a wide selection of photocopied pamphlets and handouts from grassroots activist organisations, and the staff can put you in touch with them should you be interested.
