Bridge Road was once home to seconds stores attached to Richmond’s clothing factories. The factories are now long gone, but the discount clothing stores remain. Amongst the outlets massed between Hoddle and Church Streets, you’ll find big names, such as Country Road, Rivers and OJAY (all in Richmond Plaza on the corner of Bridge Road and Church Street), Esprit (at number 132a) and Body Shop (123). North of Church Street is given over to a string of furniture and homeware stores, including Clive Peters (459), Dare Gallery (463-477) and Adairs House of Linen (491-497), to name just a few. – Jo-Anne Woodward
