Located in the Plaza de la Santa Veracruz, in a nineteenth century building, the doors of this museum open to reveal the secrets of Mexican engravings - from pre-Hispanic mud seals to the modern torculus. There are some particularly interesting examples by graphic artist José Guadalupe Posada, an engraver from the early twentieth century, who captured the spirit of his age in his happy, dancing skeletons, exemplified by his famous engraving "La Calavera Catrina". There are also works by David Alfaro Siqueiros and José Clemente Orozco, two famous Mexican muralists. The Museo Nacional de la Estampa is a space characterised by the chronological, technical and thematic variety of exhibits on display.
