Website | EmailThis place was started as a private gallery in 1963 on the first floor of Jehangir Art Gallery. It's founders, Kekoo and Khorshed Gandy, played a significant role in the Indian contemporary art movement. The couple managed a framing shop at that time, which was a favorite with the penniless struggling artists, who later became stalwarts in the field. The shop slowly turned into a gallery, and since then has hosted some of the biggest names in the Indian art like Tyeb Mehta, Swaminathan, Ram Kumar and Husain. One of its recent and more popular exhibitions have included a Tribute to the life of Bhupen Kakar.
