WebsiteDuring this fall festival, the island turns all of its attention to its art and artists. The week's activities include special exhibits at local galleries, readings by authors at libraries and bookstores, stagings of plays and numerous concerts featuring all types of music. Each year the week is capped off by the annual Wet Paint Auction. Artists begin painting in the morning and by evening the just-completed masterpieces are auctioned off. Nearly all events are free with an Arts Festival Button obtained through the Nantucket Arts Council.
