The last sugar plantation to operate on Nevis, this estate (now in ruins) serves as an excellent vestige of the sugar and agricultural production process characteristic of Nevis and most other Caribbean islands. Located on the windward side of the island, the former plantation offers picturesque vistas of the Nevis coastline and Montserrat in the distance. There's a tall stack at the estate, and still standing, there's the actual steam engine machinery that was used until the 1950's. The estate is now government owned and visitors can stop and wander around the property at any time.
