Italian immigrants Annuziata and Salvatore Consiglio brought Old World flavors to New Haven with their Southern Italian fare made with only the freshest ingredients, and though it was originally a mere extension of the Consiglio's kitchen, the years have brought many renovations to the family owned and operated eatery. Take your taste buds on a tour of Italy with favorites such as the homemade cavatelli, or the Italian Peasant Pork. Prices can be steep for the dinner entrées, but with such a broad selection of wine and hefty food portions, Consiglio's has long established itself as a local favorite in this college town, so be sure to make a reservation.
