WebsiteAn East Village landmark that first opened in 1854, and is the oldest bar in Manhattan. McSorley's serves two kinds of beer: McSorley's Light and McSorley's Dark. There is sawdust on the floor, and historic bric-à-brac, photos and news clippings cover the walls. On weekdays it is a comfortable place to enjoy their tasty brew. On weekends, there is a long line of tourists and college kids. McSorley's did not allow women until the 1970s, and even today the crowd is primarily made up of men.
