Situated bang in the centre of town, close to the Central Railway Station, it is still only five miles from the airport. Opened in 1858 by Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, the hotel is now a family run concern promising guests a friendly and courteous service. The restaurant - La Grille - has both à la carte and table d'hôte menus along with a good wine list. The Empire Bar is pleasant and informal.
