Designed by Spanish engineer Leonardo Torres Quevedo in 1913 and opened in 1916, tWhirlpool Aero Car offers a fantastic view of Niagara's Whirlpool, the Gorge, and the Falls about 3 kilometres to the south of the Falls. The round trip, in a suspended 40-passenger car held by six steel cables, is about one kilometre and takes 10 minutes. The car has been modernized, with the latest update taking place in 1987.
