The formerly beautiful Abbey of St. Katherine now stands in ruins and Between June and September hosts part of the city's 'Summer in Nuremberg' programme. In the last few years, tickets for performances have become ever more sought after. A-Capella, jazz, classical music, Chansons and many other styles attract music lovers. Ladysmith Black Mombazo, who accompanied Nelson Mandela to collect his Nobel Peace Prize is amongst the representatives of the world music scene who have performed here. In the event of rain, concerts are held at the Tafelhalle (Äußere Sulzbacherstraße).
