The Frauenkirche (Church of Our Lady) dominates the Hauptmarkt(Main Market). Money for building the church was sponsered by Emperor Karl IV and since 1816, this has been the city's main Catholic church. It is the oldest church of its kind in Franconia and Peter Parler, who is also responsible for building the Cathredral Prague was the master builder.Every year, the girl who has been elected as the 'Christ Child', opens the world-famous Christkindlesmarkt (Christmas market) from here.Guided Tours:.Jan-Apr and Oct.
