This is said to be one of the oldest inns throughout Germany. It resides in the basement of the historic Nassauer Haus is easily overlooked but it actually dates from the 13th century. The atmosphere is incredible, you can sense the past all around you. The brick walls were skillfully built to last and you can only be amazed at such an architectural feat. Apart from regional cuisine, you can also order fish and game and there is a good selection of beer. The wine list is commendable and the restaurant is also open on Sundays during the christmas season. You would be well advised to book in advance though.
