Website | EmailThe City of Nuremberg has a fine opera house and two excellent municipal theaters. The Opera house dates from the beginning of the 20th century (1901-1905) and the annual program of events incorporates modern and classical opera, with a bias towards the latter. There are also regular special events, such as a host of evening performances in the foyer and backstage tours. The Schauspielhaus, a more modern building, has an excellent reputation and one of its specialties is breathing new life into old classics. An effort is also made to rediscover forgotten plays.
