WebsiteLocated in the middle of a park commemorating Expo'70, this museum serves as a center of cultural activities. Established in 1977, the museum aims to show how Japanese art developed in relation to world art, without restrictions of period or regional divisions. A major exhibition, held once a year, deals with international influences and exchanges in contemporary art, while "Recent Works" presents the work of active artists today in a series of individual exhibitions. The museum is also an active collector of contemporary art from around the world. Displays of the works in its collection are mounted regularly.
