WebsiteThis large, elegant theater has seating for almost 2,000 and is often fully booked, which is an indication of the quality of the performances it stages. Oddly enough, kabuki is usually only performed in May. For the rest of the year, it stages manzai, or two-man comedy acts, with some of the top artists of this genre; modern drama; and popular variety shows. There is a restaurant that serves Japanese food and alcoholic beverages as well as lunch boxes, a coffee shop, and a shop that sells theater memorabilia.
