This movie theatre first opened its doors in 1932 for a showing of The Blue Danube, starring Brigitte Helm, and has entertained Ottawa audiences with alternative and mainstream film ever since. The high ceilings, chandeliers and decorative balconies take you back in time, but digital sound and a big screen meet modern standards. The seats are a little uncomfortable and parking is challenging, but the theatre is magnificent and most evenings it shows double features, an economical and pleasant way to spend an evening at the movies.
