Phone: +1 242 339 1862
Located about one mile south of Matthew Town, this lighthouse has views from the top that extend to 50 miles. On especially clear days, you can see the Cuban coast. The beacon was built in 1870 to combat the ever growing number of wrecks on the dangerous coral reefs in the vicinity. Kerosene-fueled and hand-operated, the lighthouse is one of the last of its kind still in use in the Bahamas. Admission is free but donations are appreciated.
