First mapped by Christopher Columbus himself, this area on the western shore of San Salvador is the launching point for much of the diving and fishing activity around the island. The two-mile stretch of beach is quite popular among tourists as it is adjacent to the Club-Med Columbus resort and the Riding Rock Inn, the island's only two resorts. The Riding Rock Inn offers fishing charters, diving courses, bicycle rentals, plus water and land activities.
