It tends to leave the major blockbusters to Oxford's other cinemas, but nonetheless shows a lot of big budget Hollywood movies, as well as all the major art films and indie productions you might want to see. At weekends, it also has late-night showings of cult movies. The Phoenix has lots of character—the small bar upstairs is a nicer place to hang out in before the film than some of the local pubs.
