Website | EmailJesus is the largest of a cluster of colleges on and around Turl Street. It distinguishes itself from the rest of the university by being known as the 'Welsh college'. It owes this nickname to the fact that it was founded in 1571 by Hugh Price, (Treasurer of St David's Cathedral in Wales), and for centuries it gave preference to candidates from Wales. T E Lawrence (Lawrence of Arabia) was a student here - there is a bust of him in the college chapel. On 1st March every year, a Welsh service is held in the chapel to mark St David's Day.
