Set in a beautiful north Oxford villa that could easily have been transported from the Mediterranean, the Lemon Tree puts the emphasis on presentation and appearance. The lemony colour of the walls gives this restaurant a summery feel, and there are tall windows looking out onto a leafy garden. The food is also expertly presented, but quality and taste aren't overlooked. While some of the dishes on the contemporary Mediterranean menu are very imaginative, others are delightfully simple. The wine list is excellent too, and the puddings are worth saving room for.
