Starting off as a small part-time orchestra performing in a local high school auditorium, Arizona's only professional symphony orchestra now performs annually more than 160 concerts from September to May. High musical standards have brought national recognition and attracted world-class artists to make guest appearances like for example Yo-Yo Ma, Placido Domingo and Andre Watts. The Phoenix Symphony Hall is a musical institution in Arizona. The hall is home to Arizona’s only full time professional orchestra that consists of a 75-member band. The orchestra plays from September to May and entertains audiences with a variety of musical scores from classical to pop. The Symphony Hall is also part of many community activities that put together educational programs for school children.
