Built in 1905, the Miriammen Temple is the oldest Hindu temple in Pretoria. Although it is not that large, it is hard to miss thanks to its beautifully colourful exterior. The temple is dedicated to Miriammen, the goddess who controls smallpox and other infectious diseases. Visitors to the temple are requested to remove their shoes when entering the cellar or assembly.
