In ancient times, before tourists discovered Puerto Vallarta, fiestas - big, happy, music and food laden festivals - only happened in conjunction with a saint day or a major celebration. Savvy business people decided that the surge of tourist business was more than enough reason to regularly schedule a version of the real thing. This street party is a bit quieter than the real thing, but is still enjoyable. Call for details and schedule; off-season, the fiesta will be less frequent and will stop entirely during the rainy season.
