Hornið happily announces its success over the door: "running since 1979". While this seems a bit redundant, it actually means a lot in the ever-changing restaurant scene of Reykjavík. One of the first Italian restaurants in the city, Hornið has become a veritable landmark in Icelandic culinary society, and while it never offers any surprises, it never disappoints either. Always cosy and crowded, the strategic situation on the corner of Pósthússtræti and Hafnarstræti will doubtless be even more strategic now when the harbour area is slowly being refashioned.
