Website | EmailFor several decades, Naustid has been one of the best dining spots in the whole of Iceland. It's not without reason that this place boasts of a clientele that includes royalty and heads of state. The name Naustid means ‘boat-shed’ in Icelandic and the decor and ambience reflects exactly that. The building was originally the home of a fish net-maker. And there are large wooden beams, rafters, braces and huge porthole windows and other sea curios that add to the 'on the sea' effect. The menu too carries traces of the ocean. Warm meals like Boiled Lamb with Potatoes, Carrots, Cabbage and Turnips, Fish Casserole (oven baked mixed fish in cheese sauce) and Seafood Salad (served cold), are some of the common favorites. The a la carte menu features a range of chicken and seafood dishes along with the in-house specialties.
