Website | EmailThe area east of the centre, close to the central bus station, has of late become a popular neighbourhood for restaurants. Traditionally it was the centre itself, and the vicinity west of the centre that were the main region of Reykjavíks foodscape, with people heading towards the part of the centre surrounding the pond, called kvosin (meaning burrow). But in recent years several quality restaurants have made their mark in this eastern part of old Reykjavík, and one of them is Carpe Diem. Located in the same building as Fosshotel Lind, Carpe Diem is a quiet and relaxed restaurant, decorated in mild off-white colours with bright and unintrusive art on the walls. The menu offers excellent international cuisine at moderate prices.
