Close to the lake and blessed with a view of the magnificent Pedra da Gávea, this 375-acre preservation area was created to protect the wildlife that remains in the area. It is a good place to walk around, bird-watch and to see exotic butterflies. Falcons, lizards, other endangered species, as well as some rare vegetal specimens will also be seen. Bring binoculars and, if you are lucky, you may see a Brazilian caiman or two.

Open Hours: 8-17h diário
