WebsiteThis theatre was built in the 17th Century on the wishes of Queen Kristina of Sweden who loved art and especially the theatre. The Queen wanted to overturn the rigid rules that governed the theatres in those days and decided to let women act but this ended up with the actresses being arrested. Economic recession caused by World War II meant that the theatre Tiberino was turned into a café chantant and later a local cinema. After a long period of closure, it was eventually reused as a warehouse, then a printer's. Finally, the theatre was reopened in 1968 and renovated in 1985. It can seat 405 people and has a large stage. After a performance, you can eat at the Fantasie di Trastevere restaurant. Ticket prices: vary according to the show
