Website | EmailRawlins is a small country inn build from the ruins of a 17th century sugar plantation. It is located at the northern end of St. Kitts with views of Mount Liamuiga and neighbouring islands. The 20-acre grounds are beautifully landscaped and surrounded by fields of sugar cane. There are ten guest quarters, each its own little cottage, all of which are scattered picturesquely on the property. Most of the guest rooms have been created from the old plantation out-buildings. Each is individually decorated with white or stone walls, wooden floors, brightly coloured cotton fabrics and beautiful antiques. There are tennis courts, trails for walking, a swimming pool and croquet. This is not your typical hotel; it is more like visiting someone's home. There isn't much to do here except relax and take in the beauty of the surroundings. The food is outstanding and a variety of dishes await, most with a strong West Indian flair. The buffet lunch is extra, but worth it. Lunch and dinner are also open to the public, so reservations are necessary. If you want total peace and quiet, beautiful scenery and wonderful food, Rawlins is the place for you.
