Explore the protected area on St. Thomas’ south shore known simply as the Lagoon. With a guide at the lead, paddle two-person kayaks down mangrove-fringed waterways to a rubble beach at the Lagoon’s mouth. Stop there for a half-hour snorkeling expedition to see fish dart about coral. The entire trip lasts 2 and a half hours and includes kayak rental, waterproof bags, life vests, mask and snorkel use. Rates run from USD50 per person. Children under seven are not charged.
